A Dairy Story begins the next phase of its UK theatrical release this week, with fourteen screenings booked at ten independent cinemas from Aberdeenshire to Cornwall and further dates being added. The film is available to screen exclusively in UK cinemas during September and October, and bookings are welcome.

A Dairy Story has completed its run of Green Screen events at Picturehouse cinemas, closing on Sunday evening at the Duke of York’s in Brighton, the oldest cinema in continuous use in Britain.

A Dairy Story begins its UK theatrical release tonight at the Cameo Picturehouse in Edinburgh. The release marks a milestone for a film that began as a two-person project in Dumfries and Galloway, and its route to cinemas has been equally independent.

A Dairy Story and the farm at the heart of it have featured in the national press in the opening days of the film’s release, with features in both The Times and The Herald ahead of the film’s release day screening at the Cameo in Edinburgh.

A Dairy Story previewed at Cinema City in Norwich on 30 July, ahead of the film’s UK release on 4 August. The screening was followed by a panel discussion featuring Philip Lymbery, Global CEO of Compassion in World Farming, alongside Rebecca Mayhew of Old Hall Farm in Norfolk, a farmer who has adopted a cow-with-calf approach.

A Dairy Story has been reviewed in The Guardian ahead of its UK cinema release. Critic Phil Hoad awarded the film three stars, describing it as making “a handsome case that change is possible.”

A Dairy Story has won Best Feature Documentary at the Unisphere Film Festival in Queens, New York.

The Oxford Cultural Collective, which uses food, drink and hospitality as catalysts for positive social change, has become an official partner for A Dairy Story, lending its support as the film enters a new phase of its distribution campaign.

A Dairy Story has launched Join the Moovement, a global pledge campaign inviting people to sign their support for cow-with-calf dairy and add their pin to a live map on the film’s website.
