A Dairy Story will make its Pacific Northwest premiere on the opening night of Wild Coast Film Festival in Astoria, Oregon on March 12th, 2026.
The film has been selected for a special screening called ‘Ways of Keeping’, which examines food systems through the lives of animals and the people responsible for their care. The programme asks what sustainability and responsibility look like in practice - questions at the heart of the Finlay family’s journey to create a commercially viable cow-with-calf dairy system.
A Dairy Story will screen alongside ‘A Clawsome Tale’, a short documentary exploring marine conservation through the life cycle of a European lobster. Together, the films offer different perspectives on how we care for animals in food production and conservation.
Wild Coast Film Festival is run by the Wildlife Center of the North Coast, an organization dedicated to marine wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education. The festival showcases films exploring nature and humanity’s role within it.
This marks the film’s third US festival selection, following screenings at Frozen River Film Festival (Minnesota) and Wild & Scenic Film Festival (California).
