A Dairy Story selected for DocLands Documentary Film Festival

A Dairy Story has been selected for DocLands, the documentary film festival presented by the California Film Institute, screening at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael. 

The film was due to have its Bay Area premiere on Sunday 3rd May, but a second screening has been added on Friday 1st May after the original date sold out in less than a week. The response reflects the growing interest in cow-with-calf dairy farming among US audiences, particularly in California. 

DocLands is one of the leading documentary festivals on the US West Coast, drawing audiences from across the Bay Area and beyond. The festival has a strong track record of platforming films that explore pressing environmental and food systems issues, making it a natural fit for a documentary that follows one farming family’s decision to challenge decades of industry practice. A Dairy Story will screen in the programme strand ‘The Great Outdoors’ which is described as “transports us outside to truly appreciate, explore and ultimately compel us to save and conserve our environment and the wilds of our precious planet.”

The DocLands screenings mark the film’s second festival appearance in California, following its selection for the Wild & Scenic Film Festival earlier this year.
