A Dairy Story Featured in The Scotsman Magazine

The development of A Dairy Story has been featured in The Scotsman Magazine, in a feature article that explores the background to the film.

Written by the film’s producer Lorna Young, who is a former Circulation Analyst for The Scotsman, the article traces the film’s origins back to a conversation in 2009:

“I first heard about David and Wilma’s cow-with-calf plans back in 2009. Over a cuppa Wilma explained their radical ‘experiment’ as they called it, which had been prompted by questions from visitors on farm tours… The reason Wilma had invited me round was to discuss how this cow and calf experiment could be communicated to the public. Might a TV production company be interested in filming it?”

The full article is now available to read on the film’s newly launched Substack, which documents the journey of distributing the film independently, with reflections on festivals, screenings, and the strategic decisions being made along the way.

The Scotsman feature comes as the film begins its theatrical run in Dumfries & Galloway, with screenings seeing strong interest.
